Layering a Nautical Navy Tank Dress for Work

Since it’s summer, I wanted to wear something light and comfy than the normal dress pants and fitted pencil skirts. I was looking through my closet and found this striped navy blue tank dress that I bought last spring from Loft. It’s not really work appropriate (Business Casual) if worn with a collar white shirt or t-shirt underneath (see image below). After staring at this dress for about 1-2 minute, I thought it might be a good idea to layer a shirt on top instead. My closet became a mess and I tried to find something to match it.

I tried many different shirts but because the dress was already boxy and loose, it was hard to find something that would work with it. In the end, (with the help of my sister) I decided to wear this dress with my lace crop top that I bought from Romwe (see image below). I also wore this top in my previous outfit post with a high-waisted black midi skirt, see here. After trying on this dress with this crop top, the dress ended up looking like a skirt. This outfit is perfect as a business casual summer attire in the office. We also had a company luncheon, so this outfit is loose and comfy enough for all the food that I ate haha.
