Gudetama is a popular Sanrio character that was introduced in 2013. He is a lazy egg yolk with no energy, and hard to motivate. His simple character and design ultimately became one of my favorite Sanrio characters, and when I found out Curry House will be collaborating with Gudetama, I knew I wanted to try it.
Gudetama X Curry House will be offering this promotion until January 20, 2018. When I first heard about it, I thought it was the cutest thing ever. Then on Snapchat, a friend of mine went three times over the course of two weeks. So, I thought the curry had to be good.
This meal set comes with Keema Curry (there’s also a vegetarian option), a drink, salad, corn soup, and flan pudding. Oh, you also get an exclusive Gudetama X Curry House beanie. Meal set cost: $29.
To start, I ordered an iced green tea. Then, you’re served a small salad, and corn soup.
So what is Keema curry? It is Indian curry made with ground meat (traditionally lamb meat) and minced vegetables. This is one of my favorite dish to cook at home since it’s very quick and easy to make. At Curry House, they used minced meat, potato, carrots, onions, and mushrooms. The curry is poured over rice, and topped with a sunny side-up egg.
Lastly, you have Flan for dessert.
Overall, the curry isn’t that great. In my opinion Coco Ichibanya, tastes way better. I struggled to finish my meal, not because I was full, but because it just tasted average. This event ended up only being good for my Instagram haha.
