For work, I decided to go back to basic – black and grey. I’ve been having a hard time finding work clothes to wear because it’s warm outside and cold inside the office. On this particular day, it was cloudy and gloomy in Southern California (72°F or 22°C), so I wore a collar crop top (not really a crop top on me), and high-waisted dress pants. Because I’m wearing all black and grey, I used my pink Samantha Vega bag for pop of color.
Top: Zara – size XS | Bottom: Uniqlo | Shoes: Steve Madden – size 5
For this work outfit, I wore my blue strip collar one-piece top from Yesstyle. I bought it for days when I’m feeling lazy, or days where I have no idea what to wear to work. My co-workers actually thought it was a two-piece blouse. The fabric material is light-weight, and you wouldn’t have to worry much about layering. It is long-sleeve, which is perfect for the chilly office environment but still light enough to wear outdoors. The back of the shirt is slightly longer than the front, and there is a zipper. I like to wear this with the sleeves rolled-up for a more casual look, black pants, and heels/flats.
Happy Sunday! Today, it is about 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius) in the Greater Los Angeles area. I don’t usually like to go out much because summertime in California is way too hot for me. Usually I spend my weekends reading, cooking, watching movies, and being lazy all day. This weekend, I actually went out instead of being a hermit crab. I went to 626 Night Market on Saturday, and today I went to grab lunch with my sister and her boyfriend. For my outfit, I decided to wear legging pants (from Uniqlo – size xs altered) since I already got a bad tan line from wearing shorts the previous day, a grey lace camisole with a white crochet cardigan, and brown slip-on shoes (Michael Kors – size 5).
For Lunch, we went to Wood Ranch BBQ. I ordered their signature Tri Tip BBQ (10 oz) with a side of sweet potato fries. After we decided to walk off all the food we ate at Barnes & Noble. I wanted to buy some books but I realized I still have 3 books that I’ve recently purchased. Fiction and Literature are my favorite genre. Of course, I can’t forget about the manga section. I was tempted to buy Haikyuu! and Naruto manga. Before heading home, we stopped by 7 Leaves for some Thai Tea.
Last weekend, my best friend since middle school got married. She had two weddings, and the one I attended was her traditional Cambodian (Khmer) wedding ceremony. I haven’t been to a traditional Khmer wedding since I was 9 when my aunt got married, so it was pretty hard figuring out the appropriate attire. I decided to wear this mock one-piece water-color flower dress from Liz Liza. I ordered this dress from Tokyo Otaku Mode because the main Liz Lisa website, Tokyo Kawaii Life, no longer sells it. This dress runs pretty small so it’s perfect for petites. I’m 4’10, and the length stops right above my knees. I love dresses that looks like a two-piece because it saves me a lot of time when deciding on what to wear.

Since summer is approaching, I’ve been wanting to wear more skirts, shorts and dresses. Today is about 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Los Angeles, so I wanted to wear something light since I walk around the corporate building during break to get some exercise in. The skort, or sukupan, I’m wearing is from the Japanese brand Liz Lisa. I like how it’s high-waisted, and it gives off a skirt-like appearance. I wasn’t sure how to style this piece, so I decided to pair it with a white collar button-up shirt, grey cardigan, and some brown flats. I originally wanted to wear this outfit with some grey or beige heels, but I can’t because I was clumsy and got a cut on my foot. To match with my brown flats, I’m using my Louis Vuitton Speedy 25.
Mini pencil skirt is a great alternative for ladies under 5 feet who are looking for work outfits. At 4’10, I struggle with finding skirts that are at the perfect length. But I noticed that most mini skirts are actually the perfect length on me. Mini skirts, and mini dresses, usually stops above my knees or below my mid-thighs. I bought this skirt from Uniqlo last winter because I thought I could wear it casually out to lunch or dinner with friends. But after a few uses, I realized that it can also work for business casual attires. Today, I wore it with a white lace-up crop top T-shirt from Romwe, grey heels, and a gray cardigan.
