On July 5-8, Anime Expo 2018 (AX18) welcomes anime and manga fans to the Los Angeles Convention Center in California. This is my 9th year attending Anime Expo, as well as my 3rd year volunteering with the Press Relations department. Although, I had a very busy schedule, I was still able to cosplay on day 1, and shop in the exhibit hall before noon each day. I felt like I barely slept throughout the 4-day event, so it was very tough going back to work on Monday. Here are some photos I’ve taken at AX18:
2017 was another wonderful year with great happy memories! Here are some of my best moments of 2017 🙂
- Birthday celebration with Disneyland’s Afternoon Tea
- Meeting One Ok Rock
- Attending Pixar Exhibition at the Los Angeles Science Center
Super late post, but better late than never. Two weeks ago, my friend asked my sister and I to come over for a small Halloween party – mainly just eating and watching movies while her parents gave out candies to the trick or treaters. I dressed up as Umaru-Chan from the anime Himouto! Umaru-Chan – yes, I even brought the plush with me. But, I did have to opt out the wig because it was heavy, and I didn’t want a headache. I will be cosplaying as Umaru-chan for upcoming conventions in January.
On June 30 to July 4, I volunteered at Anime Expo (AX) in the Press Relations department. It was a very busy schedule but I was still able to find time to cosplay and going around the exhibit hall to shop. This year AX 2017, there was about six world premieres – CardCaptor Sakura Prologue, Tokyo Ghoul Live Action, Welcome to the Ballroom, etc. There was more screenings, panels, and concerts, and the convention site extended to the JW Marriot by the LA Live for even more space. AX 2017 was fun and tiring, and it was tough going back to work on July 5th. I’ve been cosplaying for about 5 years now, and I felt that each year I’m improving my makeup, wig styling, and costume details (read about my first cosplay experience here). Here are some photos I’ve taken at AX 2017 located at the LA Convention Center in Los Angeles, CA.
Cosplaying and attending anime conventions is one of my favorite hobbies. I love being able to dress up as my favorite character and take pictures of other cosplayers. Since 2013, I have always cosplay as Sakura Kimonoto from Cardcaptor Sakura. For Titan Con, I decided to go as Sakura’s best friend, Tomoyo Daidouji. Since this was a last minute decision to attend, I decided to go for something simple.
Tomoyo is an elementary school girl in the anime, so my height at 4’10 and my baby face worked out for this school girl cosplay. Here are a few photos from Titan Con 2017.
